Elle visits Noah while he is locked away at the company and gets him to tell her about what her father did to her when she was young. In turn, it looked at first like Elle let Noah go, but we find out later that Bob and Noah both go to Noah’s house and Noah basically leaves his family in order to go back and work for The Company. This isn’t by choice, he does it so that The Company will leave his family alone.

Parkman and Nathan get the info from Nathan’s mom about where the virus is held and Nathan flies them both there. Hiro is already there and has confronted Peter and Adam already, but got knocked out by a shock from Peter. The 3 of them confront Peter with force, but since Peter is such a badass, they can’t take him down. However, Nathan simply talks to him in confrontation and convinces Peter that Adam is evil. Peter saves the virus from breaking on the floor in the vault and destroys it. Hiro teleports himself and Adam out of there and Hiro leaves him buried in a coffin in a graveyard somewhere. That was cool, I laughed at that one.

Sylar takes Mohinder, Molly and Maya captive and makes Mohinder test him for the virus. We find that Sylar has been injected with the same virus that Niki was. Sylar shoots Maya and Mohinder heals her with the blood that he took from Claire, afterwards Sylar steals it and injects himself with it. Sylar gets his powers back and that is where the episode ends.

Niki saves Monica from a burning building where she was tied up by the guys who kidnapped her last week, and she doesn’t get out before the building explodes. So it appears that Niki was killed in this explosion. We’ll see what next season brings.

After the incident with the virus at the vault, Nathan, Peter and Matt decide to go public with their abilities. Somehow they get a spot on TV where Nathan starts to announce his abilities and he is shot twice in the chest. We’ll see how that turns out next season also. I kinda doubt that they will kill off Nathan. They will get some more of Claire’s blood and heal him, I am betting.

So who shot Nathan? It shows someone walking off in the background when Parkman looks towards the back of the crowd. My bet is on Noah.

WRITER’S STRIKE PLEASE END AND BRING BACK MY HEROES!

Noah wakes up from an infusion of Claire’s blood, after being shot by Mohinder. What we didn’t see last week was that Mohinder is the one who gives him the infusion. Mohinder is now working for the company as a real agent and thinks that the company is in the business of saving people. Noah keeps telling him that he is wrong, but after the events of tonight I don’t know who to believe. Bob doesn’t seem like he is all that evil, but I do believe he is hiding something.

Peter and Adam find Victoria who was some kind of doctor and first discovered the virus in 1977. Peter reads her mind and finds that the virus is in Odessa, TX, but afterwards Adam kills her and leaves a photo of her with the body, just like he did with all the other older generation of Heroes. Somehow Peter misses this part.

Sylar teaches Maya how to control her power and she tells Alejandro to leave and go back to Mexico. However, Alejandro comes back to face Sylar and Sylar kills him, then starts kissing Maya. Of course she doesn’t ever see Alejandro dead. Later on Sylar calls Mohinder, which of course reveals that he is alive, but also we see him sitting next to Molly, who is sleeping. We don’t see where Matt is.

Hiro traveled back to 1977 and saw where Adam was locked up for trying to release the virus and basically kill the whole world. Hiro’s dad is the one who signed the order to lock him up for 30 years.

At the end of the episode, Adam and Peter show up at the paper factory in Texas and time freezes. Hiro shows up to avenge his father’s death and ’save the world’ from Adam by killing him. Peter threatens to stop him and Hiro runs at Peter with his sword. That is where this ep ends, but I don’t think these two will actually fight. I think that Hiro will show Peter who Adam really is and the next episode, which is the last episode of this season due to the asshat writer strike, will end in a cliff-hanger. Not sure what will happen yet, but I bet they will leave us hanging for an entire year.

November 19, 2007, 8:31 pm : Episode 9: Cautionary Tales

Discussion: C[6]mments

We catch back up with Noah, Claire and family in California, packing up and getting ready to move again. Claire leaves for school, refusing to leave with the family because she thinks her dad is a liar, which of course she is right about. Noah follows her to school later on, only to be kidnapped by West, flying down out of the sky, picking him up and taking him for a ride. Noah and West end up teaming up because West realizes that Claire actually cared for him after Noah told him that Claire lied to him about her relationship with West.

Hiro, during his father’s funeral, decides that he wants to go back and save his dad from being killed. So he travels back, speaks to his dad (who doesn’t want to be saved, but wants to face his destiny) and travels back further in time, with his Dad, to his mothers funeral several years earlier. Hiro, after talking to a younger version of himself, realizes that his father is right and takes him back to the place of his death to day goodbye. Hiro freezes time to see who it is that pushes his dad off the roof and finds that it is Adam, Takei Kensei, from historic Japan.

Parkman discovers that he can not only reads minds, but also that he can put thoughts into people’s minds and make them do what he wants them to. He talks Angela Petrelli about who the last woman in the photo is and comes up with the name Victoria Patrick. I am not sure who that is, but I did notice that while he was holding the photo of the older generation of Heroes (I paused the show and looked at the pic for a few minutes) that Adam wasn’t in the photo. I thought that was kinda strange.

Bob shows up at Claire’s school, calls her “Miss Bennett” and she runs off to home. Mohinder kidnaps Noah at gunpoint and takes him to a meeting with Elle in an effort to trap Claire, but West shows up to help Noah and knocks Elle out. Noah and West take Elle back to Noah’s house and Bob grabs Claire at her house. So Noah and Bob setup a trade of the 2 girls. During this trade, Noah tries to shoot Bob, only to end up getting shot by Mohinder, right in the eye, thus fullfilling the Isaac Mendez photo. So Noah is dead. I didn’t see this coming, I thought they would avoid it.

However, I did say to myself quietly that “I bet they use Claire’s blood to save him”. Guess what. He ain’t dead.

Next Week:
Ok, this writer’s strike is getting to close to home. Tonight on the preview for next week they say “with only 2 episodes left”. Now I am upset. It looks like they face the virus issue again next week and somehow Peter and Hiro get into a fight. Looks interesting, but I am not thrilled overall.

Peter regains his memory and teams up with Kensei/Adam to “save the world”. I can’t decide if I think Adam is a good guy or a bad guy. Yes, he probably still has it out for Hiro, but that is just a personal thing. Why does that make him a bad guy? He wants to USE his powers. I think that is admirable because I am really getting tired of Niki “wanting to be normal” - whatever the GAC that means. Normal…. pffft.

And yes, Nelle met Peter before present day and that is how he has the Lightning Powers.

It makes sense that Nathan got burned by flying Peter away from the city 4 months ago. That is the face he keeps seeing in the mirror. He feels guilty because he doesn’t know that Peter is still alive. Next week, I am sure that they will meet up again.

And we learn how D.L. dies. That kinda sucked. He could have let that bullet pass right through him. Maybe he didn’t see it in time. And no wonder Niki feels like she wants a “cure” - although I still think that she should be using her powers for something beneficial rather than trying to get rid of them.

And Bob is another kooky character. I can’t figure out if I think he is a good guy or a bad guy. I know for sure that he has his own agenda that is self-serving, but he seems to want to help people. Maybe that is just a facade, I am not sure.

Nothing really new on Maya and Alejandro. We learn how she learned about her ‘abilities’ but nothing really new about them.

Next week:
Next week we will see Peter reunite with many people, including his brother and mother for sure. I am curious to see if Adam and Hiro will meet up and what will come of that, and I am also wondering about Hiro’s dad. I am not convinced that he is dead.

Heroes‘ second season may be coming to a close a lot sooner than expected due to the forthcoming apocalypse, also known in some circles as the damn writers’ strike.

Sources confirm that the show is going back and shooting an alternate ending to the Dec. 3 episode that, if used, would allow the episode to function as a season finale in the event of a strike. Originally, the episode was only supposed to serve as the conclusion of the current “Generations” arc. Should an 11th-hour agreement be reached and a strike averted (fingers crossed!), the alt ending would likely be scrapped.

In addition, “Heroes: Origins” has been put on indefinite hold due to the strike, but that too would be back on the boards if the strike can be averted.

Hiro comes back! Hiro comes back! Hiro comes back! Hiro comes back!

This episode was by far the most explosive and most revealing episode of the season, so far. For the rest of the season, we are going to see some really cool stuff, I am predicting.

So one commenter from a few weeks ago predicted that Kensei was the one killing the modern Heroes. Guess what…. we find that to be true at the very end of this episode. Adam is Kensei. That was cool, and a great way to end the episodes… leaving me wanting for more.

Hiro wakes up in the past, sniffing Opium fumes and finds that Kensei has teamed up with White Beard. The princess gets free, takes away the Opium and Hiro gets them all out of there. But Hiro remains loyal to Kensei and tries to save him, but we see them sword fight which was predicted in one of Isaac Mendez’s paintings. Hiro teleports out of there and watches Kensei blow up, which of course we find out doesn’t kill him. So our prediction earlier this year that Hiro was the real Kensei was partially right.

Mohinder and Noah Bennett get into an argument and Mohinder ends up turning against him towards the end and telling Bob that he has been working with Noah to bring down ‘The Company’. All of this after Niki breaks his nose and he tapes it up, which is predicted in another painting of Isaac’s. So the next thing we will have to watch for is to see if Mohinder really ends up shooting HRG.

Parkman and Nathan show up at the company to protect Bob from Parkman’s father, Maury. Niki and Mohinder join the fight, but ultimately Parkman finds out that he can put other thoughts into people’s minds also and he traps his dad in a nightmare, thus releasing Molly. All of this while Niki injects herself with the virus to get the nightmare out of her head, only to find later that Mohinder’s blood can’t cure her. But Bob says that Claire’s ability could cure her. I’ll be interested to see how that goes.

In the future we find that Peter and the Caitlin are captured by the CDC, Peter meets up with his mom and after a few minutes, he remembers her. And she refers to him as “the most powerful of all of us”… I really want to know what her power is. Peter finds out that on March 20,2007, the first case of the Ashanti Virus is discovered and about a year later it had whiped out 93% of the worlds population. Peter travels back to the past accidentally because he can’t control that power yet and he leaves Caitlin behind. That is when he meets up with Adam/Kensei.

Bob says that Adam was one of the ‘original’ Heroes… and he tells Nathan that he knows Adam was the one killing all the originals. Bob also tells him that Peter is alive and shows him a video which looks like it might be a preview from next week’s episode.

West learns that HRG is Claires dad and gets mad, which I also predicted. But that was obvious. Noah gets mad and tells his family that they are all moving, but Claire says she isn’t going with them. Which I can’t blame her for, Noah is still lying to them all and being a complete jerk. I originally thought that Noah was the main bad guy last season. That turned out to be wrong, but now it might be coming true.

Next Week:
Next week is the ‘6 Months Earlier’ episode where we will find out what happened right after Peter explodes at the end of last season. It should tie-up some strings, but it will probably open alot more questions also.

October 29, 2007, 8:34 pm : Episode 6: The Line

Discussion: C[12]mments

We start out and we end up with Peter :D . The Irish chick goes with him to Montreal and it seems that she is going to become a regular part of the show, which is good because those 2 seem to go well together. And at the end when he finds the note from ‘Adam’ … I don’t remember who that is. Maybe it is someone we haven’t met yet. How did he get to the future? That isn’t a power I have seen him have before now.

Maya, Alejandro and Sylar have made it across the border, and Sylar thinks he is going to take their powers once he get his abilities back, but I don’t see how that is going to happen since those powers seem to be 2-parts.

HRG and the Haitian meet up with the Russian dude who apparently is HRG’s mentor. And at the end they find the paintings, several of which we haven’t seen before. But we don’t get to see too much more into that this week.

West and Claire devised a pretty good scheme to trick the snobbish chearleader into looking like a complete fool. I gotta admit, that was pretty good. I laughed at that one.

Mohinder and Niki team up… that should be interesting. And Bob kinda submits to Mohinder on what he wants to do with Monica and also with Molly. But I still think that Mohinder is in over his head with ‘The Company’ - I think he is going to regret taking Molly there in the next few episodes.

We don’t get to see Parkman, Nathan or Micah in this one, but they seem to be in the previews for next week. Overall, this episode was fairly uneventful but I think it was still a good episode.

Next Week:
We get to see previews of the future, similar to the future episode from last season. And of course “save the world” comes into play again. The next few episode should be quite interesting, all the way up until the end of the year. And then during sweeps in January I expect to see some really explosive stuff.

October 22, 2007, 7:38 pm : Episode 5: Fight or Flight

Discussion: C[7]mments

We don’t see Sylar, Claire or West in this one. And the time with Hiro in the past is pretty limited, which is fine with me. I am kinda getting tired of that story-line and ready for Hiro to come back and join the gang.

Peter is still in Cork and hanging out with whats-her-name. Sorry to see that her brother got fried on this episode, but we get to see Ellie and finally learn where Peter got his lightning powers from. He must have met her previously to this season. And it was cool to see Isaac Mendez’s powers come back to life and to see Peter paint something again. He is re-discovering what he can do. I can’t wait for him to turn invisible again.

Parkman and Nathan track down Parkman’s father and for a minute I thought maybe his dad was on the good side, but turns out that was wrong. That is a cool power he has, similar to the illusion girl that Sylar killed last week, but not exactly. And I am still waiting for Nathan to fly again, so far this season he hasn’t really done anything. Also I am curious about this melted-face version of himself that he keeps seeing. What does it mean? Why does he keep seeing himself this way? Guilt from his thinking that Peter is dead?

Micah and Monica learn about each other in New Orleans and Monica shows that she can mimic everything she sees, not just what is on TV. So I was right from last week, unlike some of the unsuspecting commenters on this blog >:0 - so again, it will be interesting to see about when she sees these other Heroes use their powers, if she can mimic them.

I think that Mohindar taking Molly to ‘The Company’ was a mistake. HRG didn’t like the idea and I think he is right.

I think this episode is contained some good action and started the story rolling a little faster than the last 4 have done.

Next Week:
Finally Peter is going to stop running! Maybe we will finally get to see him kick some more ass soon. And Sylar confronts Alejandro about his powers, that should be fun. HRG and the Haitian seem to get tanlged into something also, but I couldn’t tell what.

October 15, 2007, 7:33 pm : Chapter 4: The Kindness of Strangers

Discussion: C[9]mments

We don’t see Hiro or Peter in this episode. I want to catch up with Peter, but I didn’t miss the ancient Japan scenes in this episode.

Maya and Alejandro find Sylar in the desert and he gets to see their powers later. If he were to try and steal their powers, I don’t know how it would work since they have this yin/yang thing going on. Would Sylar get both the power to kill and the power to stop it?

The new hero chick in New Orleans working at the burger shop can see something and then do it. So logically, she could see powers from the other Heroes and replicate them.

West is going to find out about Claire’s father at some point in time and he is going to be mad. I’m not sure how long they can actually hide it from Bennett and I am not sure how long he can hide working with the Haitian. But it will be fun to watch unfold.

So we come to Parkman, Mohinder and Molly. I think the big spoiler of this episode is that Parkman’s father is Molly’s Nightmare Man. We finally find the photo of all the “original” Heroes, the 12 from Linderman and Nakamora and the Petrellis, and we find Bob in there, Parkman’s Father, some other chick and 2-3 other faces we have never seen. And I did not see it coming that Parkman’s father would be in that group. But I am glad to see him getting more entwined into the entire show. And I hope that Molly comes out of her coma, I am guessing that The Nightmare Man has her and Parkman will have to go rescue her.

Next Week:
We’ll get to see Peter again and hopefully he will get his memory back. And I am guessing that we’ll catch up with Hiro in the past. And they will have to show what comes next with Molly and Parkman’s father.
