Filed Under: Season 2Discussion:
We start out and we end up with Peter
. The Irish chick goes with him to Montreal and it seems that she is going to become a regular part of the show, which is good because those 2 seem to go well together. And at the end when he finds the note from ‘Adam’ … I don’t remember who that is. Maybe it is someone we haven’t met yet. How did he get to the future? That isn’t a power I have seen him have before now.
Maya, Alejandro and Sylar have made it across the border, and Sylar thinks he is going to take their powers once he get his abilities back, but I don’t see how that is going to happen since those powers seem to be 2-parts.
HRG and the Haitian meet up with the Russian dude who apparently is HRG’s mentor. And at the end they find the paintings, several of which we haven’t seen before. But we don’t get to see too much more into that this week.
West and Claire devised a pretty good scheme to trick the snobbish chearleader into looking like a complete fool. I gotta admit, that was pretty good. I laughed at that one.
Mohinder and Niki team up… that should be interesting. And Bob kinda submits to Mohinder on what he wants to do with Monica and also with Molly. But I still think that Mohinder is in over his head with ‘The Company’ - I think he is going to regret taking Molly there in the next few episodes.
We don’t get to see Parkman, Nathan or Micah in this one, but they seem to be in the previews for next week. Overall, this episode was fairly uneventful but I think it was still a good episode.
Next Week:
We get to see previews of the future, similar to the future episode from last season. And of course “save the world” comes into play again. The next few episode should be quite interesting, all the way up until the end of the year. And then during sweeps in January I expect to see some really explosive stuff.

Two quick things, Peter picked up the power to time travel early in season one when Hiro met him on the subway and first told him to “save the cheerleader, save the world.” I am assuming that because Peter only needs to be near the person to absorb their power, this is when it happened.
I think that Adam is Adam Monroe the name on the file folder that Bob was holding when he met with Mohinder about dangerous abilities. We have to my knowledge never met Adam but that is the only other Adam reference I know of.

Peter was standing near Hiro a couple times last seasons, including the finale, so its a good bet that’s when he absorbed Hiro’s ability.

Yep, you 2 are right about Peter absorbing Hiro’s power. I didn’t think about that.
I didn’t notice the folder that Bob was holding in the show.

i think that was a pretty weak episode - so far i’d say that season 2 is really un-focused .. and drags on way too long.. episode 6 was probably the most boring episode ever and for the first time i could see that this series might not have the staying power that i thought… i will continue to watch, but the writers/directors better get their act together… uncertainty in the plot is one thing, but this sporadic story-telling with no apparent reasoning for going from one character to the next is getting tiresome.. there’s no way you can say that you are as engaged in the storylines as you were at this time in season 1.. just my opinion tho.. thanks for the blog.

i should mention however.. i just watched the preview for next week’s episode and it looks like some answers as to where this season is going might finally be coming (a storm coming to wipe out the world or something.. good vs. evil..)
but episode 6 was still the worst episode ever…
hopefully good things to come.

This was a fairly interesting episode which pretty much set up the “who” and “what” of this season. We learned, by looking at the paintings, that the mutated virus the company is producing will do exactly what Seresh told Bob…cross over and spread to the general population. This became even more evident when Peter jumped to the future (using Hiro’s ability) and saw that there was an evacuation order to avoid contracting a virus.
I don’t think we are going to see Hiro in the 21st century any more in this season and perhaps never again as he might be taking Kenseis place in history. While it was stupid of Hiro to have given into his desires forYaeko who could blame him? In the paintings that were found in the warehouse we saw that Hiro was fighting Kensei. This will most likely lead to 2 ultimate endings. First, Hiro will kill Kensei and take his place as the famous Kensei in history or second, he’ll somehow show kensei (or get killed by Kensei) that he needs to be the hero and save the future. Either one is possible…we just know that they fight each other.
There were some other interesting paintings as well. If you look closely I don’t think that it is going to be West who kills HRG…it would appear to be an unkown. There was another painting of what appeared to be Niki banging on some sort of door…it will be interesting to see what she is really trying to do in that picture. There is a picture that appears to be of Claire when she died on the steps faking out the cheerleader, so that painting would be done and over with (painting 3, perhaps?) and then there was one that really caught my eye. There was a painting with a biohazard sign in it and a couple of people that looked fairly surprised. Anyway, it looks pretty clear that our dear hero Peter Petrelli has his work cut out for him and that he is going to have to pull some pretty amazing stunts to save the world this time (just as a joke, maybe he will infect himself with the virus in hopes that his cells will regenerate and find a cure before it kills him).

One of the paintings is showing a biohazard sign. So my guess is that Season 2’s threat is the Company’s Virus gone awry.
I don’t remember what the name of the Invisible Man of Season 1 was. Was it Adam?

You forgot to mention how Hiro is STILL stuck in ancient Japan and will probably remain there for a few more episodes because he (apparently) screwed up the timeline. I’m thinking that it will be revealed that he was supposed to do that. Can Hiro come back already?
I think the World Event the heroes are trying to prevent this time has something to do with the virus/cure. It’s probably going to jump to regular humans and become contagious.

Well, worst episode or not…I think this episode is needed to establish the new characters and some minor details….

David:
I did forget to mention Hiro, true. Earlier this season I mentioned that I thought Hiro would assume the role of Kensei and become the story legend that everyone has read about. Perhaps that will still happen, I don’t know. But it seems more likely that Kensei is now mad at him and will take out some sort of revenge on him. One commenter also mentioned that he thinks Kensei is the person in the present killing all the older generation of Heroes. Who knows. But yes, I am ready for Hiro to come back.

Dave: I still love the show but I see your point about things being unfocused. Part of the problem is that there are so many characters/story threads. Most of the past six weeks seem to be setting up the foundation for the next save the world campaign.
Daveed: The invisible man from season 1 is Claude (the Russian from this week’s episode mentioned him I think).
JRO: I ran through the painting sequence several times and I didn’t see the one of Claire on the steps. The painting on the left was partially obscured but I assumed it was the Nakamura (sp?) murder - the first one in the series. I noticed they sort of glossed over what appeared to be a picture of Peter with glowing eyes. Did anyone else assume that image 7 was Gabriel/Sylar pointing a gun?
I do have one criticism: all these characters keep running into one another (e.g. it looks like the car Gabriel, Alejandro and Maya are driving is actually Claire’s - check out the bumper sticker). I know there is supposed to be some sort of connection between all these folks but c’mon! At least give me a hint how that connection works.
Thanks for letting me get all that off my chest!
