I really wanted to give Heroes a chance, but it really disappointed me. As a black man I was shocked to see the worn-out ‘Black convict’ role being given to D.L. and the ‘Friday’ role given to the silent Haitian. Is it me or was it a bit unbelievable that the character who could become intangible would be written off with a gunshot wound? Watching his (D.L.) character get bounced around in the first season was almost like watching the best of the LAPD’s greatest hits.
Sadly even though I am making light of this I find it highly disrespectful that the writing staff can’t do more with black men than have them as cannon fodder and reminders of attitudes that should have been laid to rest decades ago. It is apparent that hiring actors to fill the roles of respected characters depends deeply on the casting agent’s racial tolerance so I implore you to tell whomever to pretend that they wee casting for ‘Friends, Fraiser, or Seinfeld’ for the upcoming ‘Villians’ storyline or you will solidify my theory casting racism especially if we suddenly see a population explosion of men of color entering Heroes in leading roles as malcontents, terrorist and or worse.

I know you can do better than this.

The debut of season three was more than i could have hoped for; my head is still spinning. Mohinder gives himself powers, Nikki is alive, Linderman is a figment of Nathan’s imagination, and twelve new villians are on the loose! I love it!

I thought the writing was just so-so. Too many people having powers – and Mohinder giving himself powers and then having his body peel away was a direct rip-off from “The Fly”. To me it was a total downgrade of his character.

Hiro’s hesitancy to go into the past is not believable either. Nor were his actions regarding opening his father’s safe. I didn’t buy Nathan’s sudden turning to God any more then Claire going back to throwing herself in front of a train… Overall pretty weak. In addition, the fact that so much has happened in the “present” that wasn’t supposed to, should make Peter immediately go back to the future to figure out what he’s messing up, or in the alternative – what’s preventing him from starting all over again by killing Nathan more effectively or something…. sigh…

I think that Linderman might be God or Jesus Christ. He can bring things back to life. He is able to somehow “plan” big events such as Nathan getting high ranking official jobs. He makes them happen. Also, the episode is called “The Second Coming” because Linderman coming back after he got punched through the head and died last season is like the second coming of christ.

    or maybe hes the devil

First off, loved the first episode of season 3. Have really one question which i don’t think they covered in the primiere and i think they’re leaving it to be determined in later episodes, but does any one now if the real peter petrelli who is trapped in that one guys body, do we know the extent of his powers yet. the file on the guy said “sound manipulation” but idk if peter still has all his powers in that guy’s body, or if he is limited to just whatever the “sound manipulation” guy can do

the last episode with sylar joining in with the company was utterly ridiculous. They are dumbing down the character and he is simply the best character in the entire show

Well first of all, I am fairly new to the Heroes scene. I watched a few scattered episodes when the first season began but I never truly got into it until last week when I found seasons 1&2 for a deal at Barnes and Noble, so I decided to pick it up. I watched through all the seasons in a few days because I just couldn’t turn it off, and soon after I went to the NBC website to catch myself up with season three episodes. I am now anxiously awaiting Monday’s episode, because thus far it seems like the show has been more about explanation of everyones powers and how this all came to be, where Villains seems to be taking a new step in story telling by talking more about current problems in the storyline (as well as future problems). There are always things that we are going to learning about in any given show, but now that they have explained everything and have given basically two seasons for the heroes to develop their powers and abilities, I am hoping to see alittle more action and big time problems. I know New York city being destroyed and a virus that could destroy humanity is fairly intense, but in the end both the issues were dwindled away in a disappointing fashion. The last episode of season 1 was a letdown, because all we saw is Peter exploding off the coasr of New York. I have taken into account that they showned us exactly what happened in season two, and I commend them for that, however its time to show us what these heroes are really made of. I want to see a full episode of action where Sylar and Peter duke it out, using all their different powers in crazy ways with intense visuals and effects. So far, they haven’t truly shown what everyone is really capable of with their powers, and it is obvious that if this were to occur in real life, as the writers and directors are trying to potray it, we would all be running wild with our powers! Lets see it! Over all, though, great show! It takes the stereotypical drama aspect of many sitcoms on stations like NBC that tend to get boring and repetitive and adds some action to the mix on a level that has never previously been shown in a sitcom/drama. PS. My favorite character has got to be Hiro!
